GMA is devoted to:

Encouraging the growth of Christian music and related products and services that communicate the gospel of Jesus Christ throughout Australasia.

Increasing the role of Christian Music in the life of the Church at large.

Enhancing and broadening a positive image of Christian Music in the secular media, and working to penetrate the wider culture with Christian music.

Encouraging a business climate and culture that is characterized by Godly wisdom, innovation, creativity, and Christian love. Encouraging standards of integrity, accountability, and stability.

Recognising excellence, and encouraging the pursuit of artistry and creativity that reflects all aspects of Christian life and faith.

To provide opportunities for the ongoing education and development of those involved in the music industry.

To provide representation to industry groups such as the Australian Record Industry Association, Australian Mechanical Copyright Owners Society, Australian Performing Rights Association, Australian Music Publishers Association Ltd, Christian Copyright Licensing International.

Any incidental activities that contributes to achieving these objectives.
