MARK DE JONG Transitioning from running the monthly town hall rallies at Youth for Christ to founding Parachute Music back in 1989, Mark has seen Christian music change considerably in the last 16 years.
Parachute was birthed out of the need to provide not only a platform for Christian musicians, but also to raise the standard of Christian music in New Zealand. Coupled with teaching and training, the scene was set for a healthy future.
Now hosting the largest 4 day Christian music festival outside the U.S., Parachute Music is a well established Charitable Trust in New Zealand, gaining global emphasis with it’s international touring artists.
It’s mission is clear and simple: to move people closer to Jesus through music.
Having played bass in many a band since his high school days and with his natural leadership abilities, Mark is all about Christian musicians having the “long haul” mentality, the reach for excellence, and the equipping and training to use their giftings for His glory in the marketplace.
